With the belief that people know best for them and we live in a system that is intentionally designed to not trust and invest in Black communities, during the COVID Pandemic. In Partnership with Seven Black-led Austin Area grassroots community groups, we launched The Black Direct Investment Fund. With $100,000, we put $1,000 into the hands of Black households across Central Texas. The Black Direct Investment Fund Directly gave money to Black people affected by Covid-19. Funds were distributed to individuals via Uptogether, a technology platform powered by the Family Independence Initiative.
